Case Study: How Kelly Went From Two Sales in a Year to 11 Sales in a Single Month

Get comfortable and get ready to read yet another great success story. This time, the star of the show is Kelly McAllister. Kelly is a wonderful woman, an exceptional client, and a great friend of mine. 

I recently had the chance to sit down with her to find out how she went from struggling making two sales a year to making 11 sales in one month!

Kelly was in network marketing and had a lot of success, but her personal growth was at a standstill.

Kelly lived a comfortable life working as a network marketer, but eventually realized that what she really wanted to do was teach people about the power of mindset—because she believed then and now that mindset is the foundation of everything. 

And then she had her impact moment. 

Kelly happened to listen to Bob Proctor discussing the Paradigm Shift and something instantly sparked.

All of a sudden, her career had focus, drive and purpose. Thanks to Bob Proctor's wisdom, she knew she wanted to pursue a similar career path. But actually putting this in practice was not as easy as she thought it would be. Because of her previous success in marketing, she thought she was going to instantly hit the ground running… but even though she loved and believed in the material, she didn’t have a vision for herself in this area.

She lacked direction. 

She had no order. 

And that got her stuck.

Not knowing what to do began chipping away at her confidence and allowed procrastination to overshadow everything. In fact, she recalls feeling like she was dragging people instead of helping them. 

Things only started to change after she came to the Opulent Salesperson in November 2020.

That’s where she first learned how to establish order in her business, and that was the shifting point in her career. 

Funny enough, it only took her 10 minutes to change her entire perspective, because there’s a difference between taking action and inspired action. When she started living from inspired action, her confidence got an instant boost. This led to her not only feeling comfortable during sales calls, but to her actually enjoying them!

When you’re in a state of inspired action, you’re able to let go and be completely present with each and every potential client.

Your focus ultimately shifts as you realize it's not about you… it’s about them. This allows you to handle a potential ‘no’ without attaching yourself to that answer.

That was the secret ingredient for Kelly. 

Tip: If you want to free yourself from many of life’s problems, stop thinking about yourself. 95% of your problems are self-centered. We’re all trying to get… but in the Opulent Salesperson, we’re learning to give.

Going back to Kelly, when I had the One Sale a Day call with her (after an Opulent Salesperson event), I was completely honest and direct with her. Soon after our call, she decided to join.

Kelly went from making two sales in early 2020 to making 11 sales in November that same year.

Not only did she skyrocket her sales, she did so during Christmas holidays which is generally considered sales downtime. She even had people call her on New Year’s Eve! That’s absolutely amazing considering where she started. Her progress was incredible.

Here’s what Kelly had to say about joining OSAD:

“OSAD really helped identify the gap between what I wanted, where I was, and where I wanted to go, and it helped me get across that. It’s about connecting and aligning yourself with the mentor to really guide you through it because it’s pretty rough terrain you have to go through if you want to get to the top.”

The thing is, her achievements have nothing to do with me—that's all Kelly. 

It’s been an honour to mentor her because she understands that I’m not a mindreader. I can’t help people if they don’t ask questions. If Kelly is struggling she lets me know, if she’s winning she lets me know. And that’s an attitude I appreciate and encourage in my clients. 

3 ideas she became aware of that helped her make the change:

1. Learning the sales blueprint

Kelly learned that the more she masters her sales presentation the more confident she is… making it easier to make sale after sale.  

2. Creating goals and keeping them

When Kelly lacked direction, excuses were a major part of her life. After eight weeks of being in One Sale A Day, she realized that she needed to stop letting herself off the hook. 'Excuses can’t be on the table' essentially became her mantra and driving force. 

3. Igniting your imagination

Everything in the sales call starts in the mind. The better she ignited her imagination and her client’s imagination, the easier it was to close.


INSPIRED ACTION STEPS

1. Practice your sales script until you know it by heart. Need help with your script? 2. Blast through your excuses. Write a list of every excuse you make that is holding you back from doing the things you need to do to get to where you want to go. Beside each excuse, write down what you’re going to say to yourself next time you lean on that excuse. Make it specific and compelling enough to change your behaviour.

3. Use your imagination. Before each of your sales calls, spend three minutes conjuring in your mind what you think your client desires. Spend another three minutes imagining how the call is going to go—imagine it going exactly as you hope but also imagine the objections you may face that you can then meet by affirming your client’s desires.


Kelly’s advice for those on the fence about joining One Sale A Day:

“Do it, don’t hold yourself back, don’t allow your fears to get in your way, don’t listen to yourself when you’re making excuses. If you think you can’t afford it—yes you can… because you’ll make the money back right away.
